The White Knight (A Poem By Christina B.)

Posted by Lady Mel On Tuesday, April 13, 2010 2 comments

Daughters of Mortals
Go Astray
Am I supposed to look the other way?

Sons of Gods
Go Unharmed
Should I pick up my feet and run along?

The White Knight
With her mighty sword
Pierces the heart of the Jaberwocky
The Red Queen, imprisoned for her intolerance,
Quite unfair and inhumane from the Parliament
But through the Looking Glass
Rules are left broken, bewildering
 Belittle
Our expectations of the human mind.

Children of Men
Are Left Betrayed
Must Pass Through the Looking Glass for a brighter day.

Alice in Wonderland
Is an Example of True Triumph
All must obey the New Queen,
The Gift of the Lions.

I may be a blogger and college graduate, but I am a writer at heart. What do you like or dislike about my poem? What is your interpretation?

Lady Gaga, if you are out there, this one is for you!

(Piano starts playing)
When love is nonexistent
In one's own life
Does it need to be that way
Do we have to sacrifice?
With all the rom cons
And all the romantic novels
Why is love set this way?
Should love speak beyond volumes?

To all my famed monsters out there
Do not fear!
Forget Valentine's Day
Forgot this holiday!
My unbroken will is here!

I can live without love
I can live without love
But I cannot live without my fame monsters!
All I have is self-love
Not in the most obvious way
But self-love, self-love (Piano slows down)
For all of you.

(Piano stops playing for a second, then continues)
When love is nonexistent
In one's own life
Does it need to be that way
Do we have to sacrifice?
With all the rom coms, dating,
Excuses and mistakes
Why is love set this way?
Should love speak beyond volumes?

All I want for Valentine's Day
Is nothing.
All I want for Valentine's Day
Is me.
To see beyond the lines of faith
And crave out my own path
Before it is too late..
To all my fame monsters in the world, (Piano slows down, bit of silence)
To all the fame monsters in this very room!
I want to thank youuuuuu.

White House Party Crashers Exposed

Lady Mel, the educated woman and socialite that she is, sips her caramel, green tea as she reads the NYTimes newspaper inside her French chateau. Bored and inspired by the White House Intruders Want Money for Tale article in the November 28th issue, she initally decides to invite the semi-famous wannabe couple to her late night talk TV show to try to get the "real" juicy details. But she catches herself and decides that it would even be more humiliating if she wrote a song about them. Several hours later at a friend's studio, she recorded and written a tune on her acoustic guitar that went something like this:

(Guitar starts playing)
Someday, I will remember
What I was fighting for.
But nothing like this shit.
(Screaming) No, no, no!
Nothing like this.
 Nothing like this shittttt.
(Guitar playing faster)
I've seen The Wedding Crashers so many times.
Hilarious movie.
But don't act like Vince Vaughn and Olsen Wilson in realllll lifeeeee.
(Long pause, guitar plays slowly)
Two dumb ass fools.
Media hoards nonetheless,
Ended up in the White House.
Yes the White House.
Wearing their Tuesday best.
Outsmarted the Secret Service
Yes, the freaking Secret Service man! (Screaming)
Dude, where is my national security?
(Deep voice) It's gone out the windowwwww.
Like the rest of this country.
(Guitar plays faster)

So what, they did not do anything.
They just took pictures with the Washington elite,
And shook hands with President Obama.
They crashed the White House, no small feat.

Well they ruffled some feathers.
Creating all this unnecessary drama.
Exposed our lack of national intelligence
They are in deep shit now.
What if they planned to kill the president?
They were just inches away,
Oh wait, the critics did not think about that
Let these media hoards payyyyyyyyyyyyy. (Guitar rift ends)

You hate gay marriage.
That's fine, you made a sex tape.
Hypocrite. Leave now.

Where the Wild Things Are

I'm not a child
But I know
Where the wild things are.
It's out there.
Not waiting for me
It's just out there.
I'm ready for it.
No more white lies.
No more illusions.
Wild things are out there.
Silly dreams
Are dreams too real to imagine.
You can find them
Where the wild things are.

A Light at the End of the Tunnel of Economic Doom

Posted by Lady Mel On Thursday, April 16, 2009 0 comments

I'm the bright light at the end of the tunnel.

The tunnel of economic doom.

I shine when all is lost.

And when people are laid off.

I am the light.

Real world, here I come!

A Poem by Moi!
