Senior Awaits the Curse of the Recession

As a graduating senior from Smith College this May, I should be happy and content as I leave my footprints and college self behind. I should be. I plan on leaving the place I called home for the past 21 years in the next 6 months or so (woot!) and live in a place on my own and find a fabulous job in the online media/Internet advertising industries. Some of my potential future employers are Google, Yahoo, Huffington Post, E! Online, and probably NYTimes.com, but judging from its recent revenue and job losses, so I am a bit skeptical. Yet Google, Yahoo, and all the other media companies I just mentioned have had to layoff thousands of their hardworking employees due to the same economic implications.

So, if I can hear that another U.S company has laid off another employee, I am going to scream from the top of my lungs!! ARGHH! Why am I graduating during a tumultuous time in modern history where people are losing their jobs, salaries have been frozen, families are losing their homes and financial savings (stocks, mutual funds, retirement plans, pensions, etc.) and my self-confidence is questionable?

Yet, the little light inside me believes that I will gain the confidence to market myself to corporate America and overcome the hypocrisy of the world. I am an optimist and cynic after all. I think I am smiling right now. :)

A New Presidency... President Obama

Hello, everyone. I, millions of people across the globe have seen President Obama sworn into office this past Tuesday. This event will be momentous to future generations to come, considering that we the people have elected the first black and global president in the history of the United States. Yet, the thought of having this great man and orator as our new president has not hit me yet. For older generations who fought for civil rights and human dignity, I can see the emotion and this "dream" to finally become a reality, yet as a 21 year old college student in New England, I do not see it yet. Do you get what I am saying? lol. What do you guys think?

On more Youtube madness news, has anyone seen Asa the Comic's latest video titled "Obama's Inauguration Party Song"? His video made me cry for joy! Watch it here on this link.
