Five Most Sexiest Men Alive in Hollywood

I am a self-proclaimed popular culture junkie. Not the most pretentious type, but I know my way around the TV or movie screen. I do not know if I adore these five hot guys for their acting chops or for who they really are. Stop it right there. I don't! muhahaha. I have posted the hottest celebrity women (not in that way!) I would go lesbian for. Now it is time to celebrate the guys I would make out in front of you butt naked.

1. Joe Manganiello
Move over Anna Paquin. You are not going to get my dark and handsome man. He is mine! I have not seen One Tree Hill, so I do not know a whole lot about this sexy beast, but when I heard that he was going to portray Alcide Herveaux in the third season of True Blood, I knew I had to watch him. He has the perfect Mediterranean physique, a sweet yet devilish smile and my hands. I want to see his naked body on a platter now. Hurry up Alan Bell! I want to see some more skin! I forgot, he is also a sweet kindred soul. Ahhhhhhh.



2. Bradley Cooper
I'll be honest. I did not like Hangover. How this humorless movie became a Golden Globe winner is beyond my comprehension of great cinematic taste. But Bradley caught my eye though. Then I saw his devilish, playboy grin and rock-hard abs in the A-Team last month, we made out in my mom's car [insert joke]. He has this boyish demeanor like Brad Pitt, but on a different level. Plus, he speaks fluent French. Bradley Cooper can seduce little old me in French and get away with it......I need a cold shower now! 



3. Alexander Skarsgard
Now hear me out. Why is Alexander of all the sexiest men in Hollywood number #3 on my list? First of all, I decided to not rate these gentlemen from least to best. So you have more of a reason to love me now. On True Blood, his character Eric Northman is basically sex on legs. I guarantee you that in this week's episode, he is going to have sex with Snookie Stackhouse after Bill dumps her on the phone. I will be turned on like the rest of Eric Northman's groupies. I love the part in the second season when he tricked Sookie into sucking the bullet wound on his chest. You saw that undeniable smirk on his face? Muy caliente. He is bad boy material personified and a handful at the least. Alex, you are bad and I approve this message.


4. Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Man, oh man. When I first saw him play Denny Duquette on Grey's Anatomy (thanks YouTube), I wanted to sleep by his hospital bed and nurse him back to health. He has fantastic charisma on and off-screen. He didn't need Abbi, he needed me! Down-to-earth and sensitive in interviews, I can still see that bad-boy twinkle in his eyes from a mile away. I guess bad, unattainable guys are pretty such my thing, eh? Denny was such a tease and sweetheart to Abbi......then he died. SCREW U Shonda Rhimes! 


5. Gerard Butler
Last but not least, Gerard Butler. You are a sex god. You know that. But you disappointed me with your womanizing and your "grabbing Jennifer Aniston's ass" antics. You were on top (oh my ^-^) last year. But you failed miserably with your last string of movies, including Bounty Hunter. Yet, you are an amazing kisser, a sweetheart, a bad boy with that deep Scottish brouge (or what is left of it lol), and a mysterious, good-looking kindred soul that projects his womanizing persona when he only wants a little attention from the opposite sex. Gerard, if you needed attention, you could have asked me. *Sighs*......


So here are my picks for the sexiest male actors right now. With new movies, new love interests, and new career changes, these men will more than likely not make it on my list next year or for years to come. Only time will tell. So what do you think? Times Square Birthday Dreams, Twilight, True Blood, Picture of the Week

I apologize for not posting anything yesterday. I was celebrating my birthday with a close friend in the Big Apple! We spend several hours at David and Busters and shopping around Times Square yesterday! It was fun, but then I realized that you need $$ to buy things in NYC, which I did not have a lot of. This experience has motivated me to find a part-time, paying job!

On Tuesday, my department treated me to lunch at iHop and on Wednesday, my sister and I saw "Sex and the City 2" and "Get Him to the Greek" for my birthday. All interesting movies in their own special and unique way, but I will say is that P.Diddy in the latter movie was unfunny and condescending and Jonah Hill looks like a fat guinea pig. Overall, I celebrated my birthday went quite well and I hope to be more open-minded and fearless next year.


In other news.......

Last Sunday, I saw the 2010 MTV Movies Awards and I was quite disappointed. None of my predictions came true. The Twilight franchise took five awards: Best Kiss, Best Male Performance, Best Movie, Best Female Performance, and Global Superstar. I think I have had it with Twilight. I have seen the first two movies. There were less than average movies. The voting influence and power of teenie boopers and middle aged women these days is frightening to my ears. Twilight has made the MTV Movies Award a joke at a time when MTV has become a joke. Surprisingly, Ellipse is coming out on June 30th and I am not look forward to watching it.


I hate Twilight people.

However, I am looking forward to the third season of True Blood on HBO tomorrow night! I AM SO EXCITED and here is why:
  • John Manganiello's Alicide is one hot sex on a stick. Jacob who?
  • This season premieres four days after my birthday. Late birthday present!
  • The show is bringing "sexy werewolves back" on the show, unlike Underworld, The Vampire Diaries and Twilight. Alicide is probably the sexiest one of them all.
  • The growing sexual tension between Sookie and Eric. I want hot make-out scenes.
  • A possible love quadrangle between Sookie, Alicide, Bill, and Eric?
  • The actors on the show have amazing chemistry together and are trained professionals. For instance, Anna Paquin is an Academy award-winning actress, while Rutina Wesley went to Juilliard. 
  • The show is unpredictable, despite the typical love story. Remember, Maryann's dark influence over Bon Temp in season 2? She was one crazy bitch...
True Blood has it all: great actors, amazing characters, great plot developments, and it has only been two seasons so far. I just hope this season's finale was better than last season's. True Blood is on a whole another level than the Twilight franchise.

My Globen Globes Preview: Insights and the Truth

The 67th annual Golden Globes is this Sunday night and everyone who loves the entertainment industry like I do should watch it because everyone will be there. I hope to watch more of these nominated films before the Academy Awards seasons really kicks in high gear next month. So before you use your remote control to turn in, I want to give you my insights on the renowed movies and television awards show:

1. More Brangelina Drama: Sources say that the Hollywood mega couple will not, I repeat will not attend the Golden Globes because Jennifer Aniston is an awards presenter this year and they do not want any more altercations. If even they do not appear on the red carpet because of this, it is still drama. Can people just move on? Plus, Gerard Butler is a presenter too. He has had a busy and successful year with a screw of movies including The Ugly Truth. He will probably co-present with Aniston since they have a movie together coming up this March called "Bounty Hunter". Woot!


2. "Avatar" Will Be the Big Winner of the Night: The new billion-dollar blockbuster of the new millennium is nominated for four Golden Globes including Best Picture and Best Director of a Motion Picture. Everyone is still talking about this movie. Most people that I have conversed to have stated that the movie is visually stimulating and awesome, but I personally am more likely to not watch the movie until it hits DVD and here is why. I do not have a grudge with the movie's director James Cameron except for the way in which he executed the movie. In a recent Wired.com video, Cameron confirmed that Avatar is not a movie; it is a marvel for its technical, CGI brilliance than its storytelling. This disturbs me. I know the visual effects are breathtaking and futuristic for a movie of its time, but I do not want this movie to win the most Golden Globe Awards just purely on this criteria.

What happened to movies with substance and great plot development? Underneath, the technicality of this film lies a predictable storyline. I do not want this Golden Globes to be reminiscent of the 1997 Oscars when Cameron's Titanic won eleven Academy Awards, although it was a typical love story. I want both. I want movies to be mentally and visually stimulating. Although, Blade Runner and the Matrix trilogy were similarly ground-breaking for their visual effects and dystopian landscapes, there were philosophical undertones to the plot development. Those films made you think. Avatar is purely entertainment.

 3. Gabourey Sidibe Should Win for Best Actress: When I saw her as a guest on the Conan O'Brien show before it got axed, she has this bubbly, precocious energy that is anything other her character in the controversial indie film, Precious. People think this film is dark and edgy for its openness to the domestic violence and rape epidemics in the urban culture in this country, but everyone is or knows someone who are going through these hardships regardless of race or social environment. 

Just because you may a wealthy white man with a fabulous AMG bonus and villa in the Italian countryside does not mean you can hide your father's drug problems and history of attempted suicides from the rest of us. Everyone has problems. This movie shows the realities of the human plight in its modern form. I am surprised that this movie is not even nominated for best Picture or best Director because this film is an accurate representation of what life is today. Maybe because the director is African-American or because the film was heavily financed by black media moguls Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry? I do not know. I hope that she also wins the Oscar for Best Actress, but I do not want her to win it and not get any future opportunities to showcase her acting talents. 

4. Sandra Bullock, Lucky Gem: Bullock has had a great year. Her two successful million dollars films, the Proposal and the Blind Side have made her an Oscar front runner for Best Actress. She will win for Best Actress in a comedy or musical for the Proposal, but like everyone else, The Proposal was not even a good movie and she should have been nominated for her touching role in the Blind Side instead. 

5. Other Highlights: On the television side, 30 Rock will win for Best TV Comedy series and SNL veteran Tina Fey will win for Best Actress in a Comedy TV series for 30 Rock. I really, really want True Blood to win for Best Television Drama because I am a big fan of the show and all the actors on there are phenomenal!  I am anxiously waiting for the HBO premiere of the third season as we speak, yet the hit HBO show will have some stiff competition with TV drama heavyweight Mad Men for the top spot.

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be live this Sunday, January 17th live at 8pm EST on NBC. Be there.

I Found True Blood Under the Twilight Moon

Vampires. I love them. Something about them brings the animal (Rawwr) in me, but it depends on the book and the TV series. I haven't read the Vampire Diaries but I cannot wait to watch the first episodes of the adapted CW series and see if it is worth my precious time.


As a product of the Internet generation, I have something to say about the "Twlight Phenomenon". Now, I am familiar with the books. I only read the first book (must spend some time reading the rest), yet I can tell you that I was hooked on Stephanie Meyer's hypnotic writing skills. I kept reading and reading even when I had thought I would pass out on my bed before boredom. Mind you, I was an ignorant sophomore in college. Then, I read realized before I left Smith that the book series contained allegories of sexual abstinence and heteronormality, and the plagiarizing of main themes and character developments from older vampire "young adult" book series such as True Blood and the Vampire Diaries. But that is not the point. It was an entertaining book, you see.


Then, I saw the first movie late last year and almost threw up. Bad acting, bad acting, bad acting. Someone else should have played Edward Cullen instead of the unattractive Robert Pattinson. I seriously don't know why or how little gullible middle school girls love him. I don't see the sex appeal. Kristen Stewart was pretty good but I would advise that they spend some more time in acting school or with their acting coaches. Then, I got quite frustrated with the movie reinforcing the traditional gender roles within the context of the main characters, Bella and Edward. Does Bella really need a man to save her hopeless self from the big bad vampires out there? Can't young adolescent vampires control their goddamn sexual urges? Like seriously.


Need I say more? I have not read the Sookie Stackhouse short shories but the TV series is soo good. I see why Meyers copied her plot from. I have seen the first two seasons on HBO and let me tell you. This series has some of the best acting I have ever seen. The love triangle between Sookie, Bill, and Eric got me hooked from the start. Eric Northman is HOT! The gore, the sex, the violence, the morality intrigues me. Now, I know some of you are going to think that I am a hypocrite because I like True Blood more than Twilight and that I sound like a young female groupie myself. I may be but Twilight is geared towards a much younger audience and when I see little girls get all excited about the new movies and books, I think they should understand the whole literary process, not just the sugar coating. If there were more talented actors and that the fans were more educated, I think that I would have liked Twilight more. God, I am in a loop right now. It's a complicated issue.

Recessionista Gone Wild, Daily Updates!

I, like millions of Americans nationwide, are looking for employment. As of Wednesday morning last week, I have applied to three internship, two paid, one underpaid, and I am looking into 1 to 2 more right now.

I am thinking of taking a course or two in web development/ online media at a local college just to expand my technical skills and increase my chances of getting a good job or internship.

I am waiting for the third season of "True Blood" like a crazy woman on meds. :O

Who watched the Obama interviews on Dave Letterman tonight? I hope to watch it on Youtube or Huffington Post and post something about it soon.
